Yue Yin returns to 92NY with the world premiere of Elsewhere, the final chapter in a trilogy exploring the meaning of our existence, the journey of identity, and our deep connection with the universe. Blending Chinese classical and folk dance with contemporary forms and the layered influences of the immigrant experience, the choreography is both fluid and fierce, deeply expressive and technically sharp.
The main themes of Yue Yin’s work are demonstrations of sensibility and strength, emotional experiences, conflicts, and connections in all their complexity. Her presence in Women Move the World, 92NY’s 2025/26 Harkness Mainstage Series — a season devoted to work created and choreographed entirely by women — reminds us that when women move, they move more than bodies — they move ideas, forms, and the world itself.
Yue Yin’s connection to 92NY runs deep. A former Harkness Artist in Residence Mainstage artist, Harkness faculty member and DEL facilitator, she created work here during the pandemic and has continued to grow as a visionary choreographer and educator. With Elsewhere, she returns to a place that helped shape her path — and shares a powerful new work that reflects how far that path has taken her.
