Open Level FoCo Technique class | 92NY

Wednesdays at 10:30am at 92NY (1395 Lexington Avenue between 91st & 92nd street, New York)

Open Level FoCo Technique class will be taught in rotation by certified FoCo Technique instructors Grace Whitworth and Nat Wilson. The class is 90 min total in length and conducted in a follow-along method and the movement is closely aligned with the music. The instructor demonstrates sequences of movement based on the principles of FOCO while following a Three Stage structure:

• Activating – establishing the connections between mind and body
• Rooting – finding footing and building stability
• Mapping – understanding the transitions and pathways of movement phrases.

This streamlined method provides a scaffolding for developing precision, strength, stamina, and ability that promotes controlled, textured and nuanced movement qualities.

The second part of the class will focus on movement study and research.

The class is hosted by 92NY Harkness Dance Center, students are welcome to register in advance via 92NY or in person before each class.
